Cause: gunfire

Corporal Schulte was responding to a domestic dispute involving a missing child on Eda Avenue, where he was shot and killed. The offender that shot Corporal Schulte was arrested and subsequently convicted and sentenced to death. However, thirty-three years later, the Circuit Court ruled that the offender will not face execution because of mental reasons.

Corporal Schulte had served with the Mobile Police Department for 22 years. He is survived by his wife and son.
