Deputy Calvin Childs

Cause: gunfire

Deputy Childs was shot and killed while attempting to serve a warrant he had just obtained. The offender was reported to have menaced and  threatened to shoot a citizen. As Deputy Childs arrived, the offender approached and opened fire, striking him in the chest. Another deputy quickly returned fire, killing the offender. Deputy Childs succumbed to his injuries on the scene.

 

Deputy Childs had served with the Mobile County Sheriff's Office for three years. He is survived by (unknown information at this time).
