Cause: gunfire

Officer Brandon Sigler was shot while investigating a disorderly incident in the parking lot if Tyler Ridge Apartments on Thomas Road. Officer Sigler was off duty working as a courtesy officer at the time of the shooting. He was transported to Providence Hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds. The suspect was later apprehended, charged and convicted of his murder.

Officer Sigler had served with the Mobile Police Department for 18 months. He is survived by his fiancé, mother, two sisters and future step-daughter.
